After reviewing genealogical evidence, Travis learned that his 3rd great grandfather John Brown was an engineer and his 2nd great grandfather William Brown was a carpenter. After learning this information, Travis wanted to honor his ancestors’ contributions to the building of Louisiana and named his company after the street that his ancestors last resided. Travis Banks opened Gravel Road Builders & Construction services, LLC (GRBCS) in 2016 in New Orleans, LA. GRBCS is a full service contracting, construction management & consulting firm. Our projects have ranged from creating a replica of a slave cabin to a multi-story church, and we treat each project with the same compassion.

William Brown 1871-1947
Was a carpenter, and The son of John Brown. William was the father of Masline Francois. William passed down the carpentry trade to his daughter, and her husband Walter Francois.
Walter and Masline Francios 1920-1940s
Walter Francois obtained carpentry skills from his father Joseph Francois, and Masline obtained skills from her father William Brown. Together Walter and Masline told many stories, and passed down the carpentry traditions to their daughter Bernice, and their grand-kids
